Blogger: Bigger Template Edit Box

The Blogger template edit box is tiny and you have to scroll constantly to edit the HTML. The input box for editing the template is just too narrow and too short. In this article I explain how you can increase the size.

In a previous article I introduced Greasemonkey and Platypus, Firefox add-ons, which allow to customize web pages on-the-fly and make the changes persistent. In my last article, I explained how to increase the size of the Blogger post edit box. In this article, again, I assume you have Greasemonkey installed. I show how you can increase the size of the template edit box.

If you have Platypus installed (see previous article), you can customize the HTML template box at your gusto using the mouse which only takes several minutes. Just click one of the Platypus buttons at the toolbar, highlight the template edit box by moving your mouse over it, click right, and choose change style, where you can increase the width and height of the edit box.

You can also download a Greasemonkey user script for increasing the size of the post edit box in Blogger from userscripts. You can find many more examples there, however you should take care they work for your version of blogger.

In the configuration menu of Greasemonkey, make sure that all variations of the URL are caught (use * for all, for example http://www.blogger.com/template-edit* or http://draft.blogger.com/html*).
